Magnate Spotlight: Twin Aces, A Start-up by Ragini Shrestha

How did the idea for your business come about?

One of my favorite holiday destinations has always been Bangkok Thailand and I came across Jele Beautie a natural product during one of those vacations, and really liked the product so much so that I would ask my friends to bring back at least a packet for me upon their return from vacation to Thailand.

As I got older and finished college, I thought “Why not start a company and import it to Nepal?” so that people of my country can get naturally packed juices and boost their immunity and health.

What was the driving force to you becoming an Entrepreneur?

I have always looked up to my father and since childhood I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur like him.

How did you come up with the name for your company?

The word Ace always fascinated me as it means the best or number 1. We aspire to be the best there is.

What problem(s) are you trying to solve?

The logistics and support for international trade is still at infancy stage; being a landlocked country we often depend on ports of neighboring countries. We are seeking for better alternatives and efficient ways for international trade and of course I wanted that people of Nepal should consume nutritional and natural products.

What kind of customer base are you looking at?

The product/s we deal with represent celebration of life; hence we are looking for customers that believe in the same. How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful? -Fortunately, network of friends and family has been a huge support in building the business, but we do understand the need for digitization and digital marketing in today’s day and age.

How did you make your first sale?

Due to Covid our country was under lockdown so we made our first sale online.

How are you developing key partnerships?

At the moment it has just been us, the bank and an advertising agency to create our brand identity. But soon we will be identifying and developing other key partnerships.

What did you learned so far in your entrepreneurial journey?

Learned that learning never stops.

How many hours a day do you work on average?

There is no limit to how many hours, but we try not to overburden ourselves.

What motivates you?

The joy from knowing that I am making a positive difference motivates me all the time.

How do you generate new ideas?

I pay attention to details and draw inspiration from simplest of things and events.

What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

My greatest fear is customer dissatisfaction and I do my best to ensure any possibility of failure is identified and managed beforehand.

Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming a successful entrepreneur?

I don’t believe there is any method or formula to becoming successful; all we can do is do the best we can. There is always room for improvement, so when are we actually successful?

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

Being able to decide for myself is the best aspect of being and entrepreneur.

What has been your most satisfying moment in business?

Every additional order/demand for my product is a happy moment.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

My father.
